DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT THURSDAY - WHAT DOES GOD WANT US TO BE? The Conclusion.

"Every thing that a man leans upon but God, will be a dart that will certainly pierce his heart through and through. He, who leans only upon Christ, lives the highest, choicest, safest, and sweetest life." - Thomas Brooks.

We will not keep them from our children; we will tell the next generation about the LORD's power and his great deeds and the wonderful things he has done. He gave laws to the people of Israel and commandments to the descendants of Jacob. He instructed our ancestors to teach his laws to their children, so that the next generation might learn them and in turn should tell their children. In this way they also will put their trust in God and not forget what he has done, but always obey his commandments. - Psa 78:4-8. (GNB)

Arabian horses go through rigorous training in the deserts of the Middle East. The trainers require absolute obedience from the horses, and test them to see if they are completely trained. The final test is almost beyond the endurance of any living thing. The trainers force the horses to do without water for many days. Then he turns them loose and of course they start running toward the water, but just as they get to the edge, ready to plunge in and drink, the trainer blows his whistle.

The horses who have been completely trained and who have learned perfect obedience, stop. They turn around and come pacing back to the trainer. They stand there quivering, wanting water, but they wait in perfect obedience. When the trainer is sure that he has their obedience, he gives them a signal to go back to drink.

Now this may be severe but when you are on the trackless desert of Arabia and your life is entrusted to a horse, you had better have a trained obedient horse. We must accept God's training and obey Him. - Source Unknown.

Yesterday in Part 2, we were reminded of… The Good Things God Has Done, And Know That He Will Do It Again, As We Trust In Him. God has blessed us in so many ways, and He does it over and over again as we trust Him completely. We realised that it isn’t easy to trust Him completely, but as we grow in Christ and make our decisions in the Holy Spirit, we can trust Him with all of our heart, and lean not on our own understanding. Today we conclude our study with this …

AS CHRISTIANS WE HAVE NO OPTION, WE MUST TRUST IN GOD.

Jesus' Gives Us Clear Directions To Trust Him… "Do not be worried and upset," Jesus told them. "Believe in God and believe also in me. - John 14:1. When we get discouraged, we are less liable to trust in God, but Jesus puts it all back into perspective, when He tells us that our courage is in the Father and in Him. Hallelujah! What an assurance! What a God!

We were saved by faith, shouldn't we stay in it?.. You foolish Galatians! Who put a spell on you? Before your very eyes you had a clear description of the death of Jesus Christ on the cross! Tell me this one thing: did you receive God's Spirit by doing what the Law requires or by hearing the gospel and believing it? How can you be so foolish!

You began by God's Spirit; do you now want to finish by your own power? Did all your experience mean nothing at all? Surely it meant something! Does God give you the Spirit and work miracles among you because you do what the Law requires or because you hear the gospel and believe it? - Gal. 3:1-5.

Paul explains that we need to get back to the beginning, and remember that all of the benefits and blessings we receive are because of God, and the gospel of Jesus Christ, not the law! The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth and helps us to trust in God. We need to remember this at all times, we were saved by faith, so let’s continue to stay that way!

God Has Promised, He Has Proven, We Can Live By Faith… And so I am sure that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is finished on the Day of Christ Jesus. - Phil 1:6. This statement bolster’s our confidence and let’s us know that we shall want for nothing; God will support us in every way, (Psalm 23). God has proven time and time again, that He is faithful, and He will keep being so, until completion on the day that Christ comes for us, or we go to Him! Hallelujah! What a God, what a Lord, what a Saviour!

Trust Him when dark doubts assail thee,
Trust Him when thy strength is small,
Trust Him when to simply trust Him
Seems the hardest thing of all.
Trust Him, He is ever faithful,
Trust Him, for his will is best,
Trust Him, for the heart of Jesus
Is the only place of rest. - Source Unknown.

WHAT DOES GOD WANT US TO BE? HE WANTS US TO BE PEOPLE WHO TRUST IN HIM

Loving Father, help me by the power of the Holy Spirit, to trust you completely, for everything in my life. In Jesus wonderful name I pray. Amen!
