What Type of Revival Do We Need?
To “Revive Us” means that there have been rivals before, Wesley Duewel in his book REVIVAL FIRE said…

GOD visited Israel with times of revival during the Old Testament period. He visited the early church with revival, and then over the centuries He has come again and again in revival to bless His people. In the early years of this century (1905-10), revival fires burned. God sent powerful awakenings to Wales and many places in England, Scotland, Ireland, United States, India, Korea, Manchuria, China, Japan, Australia, Madagascar, Norway, and in parts of South America and the Caribbean islands. In the middle of this century, God sent revival to some of the American Christian colleges and sent revival outpouring on some of the Hebrides islands.

We need a revival that will revive us and reawaken old fires. The Christian life is made up of many beginnings. Do you remember better days?

Ø Days of dedication to the Lord and to His work?
Ø Days when you came to church expecting to see great things from God?
Ø Days when you wouldn't think of missing church to go to a sporting event or to some other event.
Ø Days when you didn't look for some excuse for why you can't serve the Lord?

Lord! revive us and reawaken old fires… Then we will not turn back from You; revive us, and we will call upon Your name. -- Ps 80:18

We need a revival that will resurrect the Church. Revival means a renewal of spiritual life and we need this in our Churches, TODAY! Let us remind ourselves of the admonishment of our Lord and Saviour, who…

Ø Rebuked the church at Ephesus for having left their first love, "Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Rev 2:4
Ø He declared to the Church at Sardis, “….I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.”
-- Rev 3:1.
Ø To the Church at Laodicea he calls upon them to repent, "Because you say, 'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing'-- and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked -- Rev 3:17.

There are elements of all of these churches of Asia present in our Churches today! Many people are members of God’s Church in name only; they are not really interested in going forward, whilst others are satisfied with the way things are and see no reason for any change. But we need to cry out to our awesome God, “Revive Us Now!”

The kingdom of God is not going to advance by our churches becoming filled with men, but by men in our churches becoming filled with God. -- Howard Spring.

Loving Father, I come to you in the mighty name of Jesus and I plead with you, by the power of the Holy Spirit, revive me now! Let me be a force for you in my life, my Church, my Community, my City, and my Country! In His name I pray! Amen.
