SUNDAY SERMON ON THE BLOG - ARE WE MAKING THE HOLY SPIRIT SAD?

Don't make God's Spirit sad. The Spirit makes you sure that someday you will be free from your sins. Stop being bitter and angry and mad at others. Don't yell at one another or curse each other or ever be rude. - Ephesians 4:30-31.

Don't make God's Spirit sad! But how do we do that?

By harbouring bitterness, unleashing anger driven rage, fighting with others, and slandering their name, while plotting to harm them. These things are the exact opposite of the qualities the Spirit is seeking to produce in our lives

God's Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways. - Galatians 5:22-23.

No wonder it makes him sad!

Loving Father, help me by the power of your Holy Spirit, to be more like Jesus, that I might demonstrate His character in my life. In the wonderful Name of Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
