IS IT SIMPLY PREACHING OR MORE?

Phil McAlmond, over at The Spirit Formed Life keeps the preaching/transformation subject alive, with his wonderful post on Is It Simply Preaching or More?

Isaiah 52:7 (ESV) How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, "Your God
reigns."


Ok, I want to play. There is some discussion going on among not a few blogs concerning preaching and I guess I will weigh in as well. You can not have hundreds of thousands of Preachers out there and not have a whole lot of takes on this most significant discussion on Preaching. I do not believe that it is so much an issue of right and wrong preaching, at least for me, as it is about what we have learned along the
way.


We all, most likely in the beginning, learned from watching and listening to those we respected or not, as well as from our classes and books and then finally from our actually doing the work and ministry of Preaching God’s Word. For me this is true.

So, what I want to share in this regard isn’t what I have learned from books or classes. I want to share is just some of what I have learned along the way while actually Preaching God’s Holy Word to God’s Holy people and serving him in the ministry...
