DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT: Strategies for Growing in God #3

Faith is deliberate confidence in the character of God whose ways you may not understand at the time.
-- Oswald Chambers
2 Pet 3:18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever! Amen.

Keeping in mind that we said growing is essential to our lives! We cannot ever cease trying to improve ourselves. What is true in our physical is also true in our spiritual lives... we should never indicate that we are “not growing" or "not wanting to grow." Here is another Strategy that I believe, will assist us in our growing in God;

Looking at our world by way of God's perspective…
Heb 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Faith and hope go together; and the same things that are the object of our hope are the object of our faith. It gives us a confidence and expectation that God will complete all that he has promised to us in Christ.

Believing that God exists… Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. We must believe in the existence of a personal, infinite, holy God who cares for us. We must believe that God will reward us when we earnestly seek Him, knowing that our greatest reward is the joy and presence of God Himself in our lives.

Faith in God makes great optimists. Over in Burma, Judson was lying in a foul jail with 32 lbs. of chains on his ankles, his feet bound to a bamboo pole. A fellow prisoner said, "Dr. Judson, what about the prospect of the conversion of the heathen?", with a sneer on his face. Judson’s instant reply was, "The prospects are just as bright as the promises of God."

Mark 11:22 "Have faith in God," Jesus answered. Use His faith, for His perspective, on our world

Loving Father, help me to use your faith and put it into practice in my life. I believe that you exist and I earnestly seek you. I praise and adore you and give you the pre-eminence in my life. In Jesus wonderful name. Amen.
