BALANCED POSITIVE CONFESSION

During the past week I have been bombarded with so many articles concerning the positive confession doctrine and I would have to agree that these preachers are in the extreme, and many of them are preaching outright heresy.

My problem is that we pay far too much attention to these people, let God deal with them! If Christians are easily fooled by this stuff, then they have a problem in their relationship with Christ. Did Jesus not say that the Holy Spirit would guide us into all truth? John 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

The enemy can distract us by listening or reading about these extremists that we miss the true positive message that God has blessed us with;

We are bought out of darkness into light.
We, who have faith in Christ, come to life… John 5:24 "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

We are brought to faith by the strength of Jesus alone.
Not by our own efforts… Eph 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, sothat no-one can boast.

Not by our own goodness… Phil 3:8-10 What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ-- the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,

But by His wonderful love… Eph 2:4-7 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-- it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Our inheritance is abundant and secure.
He came to give forgiveness… Luke 24:46-47 He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

He came to give us fullness of life… John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

This is what I call BALANCED POSITIVE CONFESSION, and I firmly believe we need to let this positive confession be on our lips, and not allow the enemy to distract us from God's truth!
