DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT TUESDAY - WHAT FATHER WANTS FOR US. Part 1.

Once, while Francis of Assisi was hoeing his garden, he was asked, "What would you do if you suddenly learned that you were to die at sunset today?" He replied, "I would finish hoeing my garden." - George Sweeting.

My friends, God has made us these promises. So we should stay away from everything that keeps our bodies and spirits from being clean. We should honor God and try to be completely like him. - 2Cor 7:1. (CEV)

Dr. F. B. Meyer learned the secret of appropriation when he was addressing a large group of children who became very unruly. On the verge of losing his temper, he prayed in his heart, "Thy patience, Lord!" Immediately all anger and annoyance died. From then on he used the same formula for every difficult situation.

When he felt lonely, he said, "Thy companionship, Lord!" When he was afraid, "Thy serenity, Lord!" When he felt critical of others, "Thy love, Lord!" He found the Savior sufficient for his every need when he appropriated by faith the promises of God! - Source unknown.

What Father wants us to do, is made clear to us, through the promises in the Bible. If we know these promises and receive them by faith, we will experience God’s desire for our life, and once we activate them, we can be sure that God will do the things, He has said He would do. The purpose of these lessons is to help us discover, what Father wants for us. And the first thing He wants for us is…

SALVATION
Everything and everyone that the Father has given me will come to me, and I won't turn any of them away. - John 6:37.

There are some people that think they are unfit for the kingdom of God. In truth, Jesus came not for good people, but for sinners, and He receives everyone just as they are. There are many that have been rejected by parents, children, relatives, friends, and others in this life, but Jesus receives everyone, despite his or her condition, Jesus will never turn anyone away.

Christ did not come into the world to condemn the world but to save it. Those who come to Christ will receive His promise of eternal life...

Then everyone who has faith in the Son of Man will have eternal life. God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn its people. He sent him to save them! - John 3:15-17.

One of the strongest accusations levelled against Christ by his accusers centred on his friendship with sinners. Thanks be to God that He has chosen to become a friend of sinners.John Bunyan, the author of "Pilgrim's Progress", worked as a repairman of damaged pots and pans. God used him as a powerful witness in the sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thousands have come to Christ through his ministry.

Since his death, the nobility of Great Britain has erected a monument in his memory. Unfortunately, they wouldn't have welcomed him into their homes while he was alive. Perhaps he was too much a friend of sinners.
Consider George Whitfield who while preaching said, "The Lord Jesus will save the devil's castaways." The same day Whitfield had lunch with Lady Huntington at her house. Another guest asked Whitfield if he thought he had gone too far. Of course, the answer was no! – Source unknown.

To those who receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour, they will find an evil opposition in Satan, and he will fight them concerning the promises of salvation. But Jesus has promised that He will protect them...

My sheep know my voice, and I know them. They follow me, and I give them eternal life, so that they will never be lost. No one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father gave them to me, and he is greater than all others. No one can snatch them from his hands, and I am one with the Father. - John 27-30.

The devil and his cohorts were devising plans to get people to reject the Gospel. "Let's go to them and say there is no God," proposed one. Silence prevailed. Every devil knew that most people believe in a supreme being. "Let's tell them there is no hell, no future punishment for the wicked," offered another. That was turned down, because men obviously have consciences which tell them that sin must be punished.

The concave was going to end in failure when there came a voice from the rear: "Tell them there is a God, there is a hell and that the Bible is the Word of God. But tell them there is plenty of time to decide the question. Let them 'neglect' the Gospel, until it is too late." All hell erupted with ghoulish glee, for they knew that if a person procrastinated on Christ, they usually never accept Him. – Resource.

The Father has made Jesus, His one and only Son, to be the sacrifice for our sins, receive Him as your Lord and Saviour, and He will give you eternal life. Hallelujah! This is what Father wants for us!

Loving Father,
I confess that I am a sinner.
I believe that Jesus came to save me.
Lord Jesus, I turn my life over to you now by faith.
I turn away from my own selfish life of sin, and I commit myself to you.
I want to love and serve you, for the rest of my life.
I receive your eternal life, and I want to live with you forever, in your glorious Kingdom.
For you are now my Lord and Saviour. Amen.

If you have said this prayer for the first time, tell someone, and they will encourage your walk with Jesus.

God Bless You And Yours.

Tomorrow in Part 2... GOD WANTS US TO SERVE HIM.
