In the midst of today’s busy and frantic world, comes a truly heartwarming and encouraging story! This story about a 74 year old age Scottish pensioner, touched my heart deeply. If ever there was a message to older people today, it is Dr. John's.

AN OAP yesterday collected his seventh university degree. John Stephen, 74, of Jordanhill, Glasgow, picked up his PhD in philosophy from Glasgow University.

He began his studies after retiring from the police in 1981 and so far has degrees in history, English, medieval and modern history, law, divinity and geography.

John said: 'I always regretted not being able to go to university because it was a waste of my life but I had to go to work and earn a living for my family.'

He is now mulling over which subject to take next!
